We Can Do Better.

Portland City Council District 3 needs Daniel DeMelo.

Portland Deserves Decisive Action.

As an experienced engineering manager, community organizer, and lifelong Portlander, I’m ready to tackle Portland’s problems:

  • I’m committed to ending unsheltered homelessness. As the Chair of the Joint Office’s inaugural Budget Advisory Committee, I raised the red flag over our unaccountable and ineffective homelessness response. While addressing root causes like addiction treatment, mental healthcare and housing costs, I will build at least 3,000 shelter beds to halt street camping and end unsheltered homelessness.

  • My data-driven approach has earned the trust of Portland’s firefighters, EMTs, 911 operators and police officers. Together, we will put more well-trained officers on the streets, eliminate 911 hold times, prepare for natural disasters, expand Portland Street Response, and hold repeat criminals accountable to ensure our neighborhoods are safe for our kids and seniors.

  • You deserve a government that works for you. I've safeguarded community oversight over billions in public spending and worked alongside Portland's premier civil rights attorneys to hold government accountable. I’ll streamline regulations, reduce housing costs, support local businesses, fulfill our climate commitments, and ensure our city is responsive to the needs of everyday Portlanders.

I am committed to bringing transparency, efficiency, and accountability to City Hall. I will ensure every dollar is spent wisely and keep my promise of no new taxes.

I am a problem-solver ready to take action for Portlanders.
