We Can Do Better.
Daniel DeMelo for Portland City Council District 3.
Portland Deserves Decisive Action.
As an experienced engineering manager & community organizer, I’m ready to tackle Portland’s problems:
I’m committed to ending Portland’s homelessness & housing crises. As the Chair of the Joint Office’s inaugural Budget Advisory Committee, I raised the red flag over our unaccountable and ineffective homelessness response. The housing crisis and homelessness crisis go hand in hand and I will fight for shelter for EVERY Portlander.
I’m committed to making our streets clean & safe. As a transit lover, a cyclist, and an organizer concerned about our climate crisis, I know how important clean and safe streets are to the functioning of our beautiful city.
I’m committed to ensuring our government is accountable to its people. As a dedicated good-governance advocate, I’ve fought to preserve access to public records and protect community input on Multnomah County’s $4 billion+ budget. Our government should work for us, all of us.
I am a problem-solver ready to take action for Portlanders.
