Town Hall for Mental Illness and Addiction

Candidates from all four districts, as well as mayoral candidates, will join to discuss the issues of addiction and mental health in Portland. The Candidate Forum is hosted by the Mental Health Association of Portland, a 501 C 3 nonprofit organization which advocates on behalf of those with mental illness and addiction and the city, county, state, and federal levels.

Urban Shade Equity Ride

Who: Family friendly BUT kiddos joining should be able to keep up on their own or could join via attached child seat or trailer. What: 7ish mile bike ride, so plan to ride for about 60min. We will have two pauses along the way, one to look at the Trees In the Curb Zone project, and another for water break. We will have snacks, conversation, and information and actions you can take for climate justice in Portland at the end at Laurelhurst park. When: Wednesday, 7/17/24, meet up at 5:45pm. Where: Lents Park to Laurelhurst park. PLEASE NOTE that this route is a one-way so you will need to plan a way home! Why: For a more equitable, beautiful, climate change resilient Portland for ALL! How: With bikes and joy for our trees!

Splash Ride with Candidates from District 3

Join BIKELOUD, Human Access Project, and Candidates in your District for the first ever 4 Quadrant CANDIDATE Splash Ride!

Four feeder rides (planned by route expert Tom Howe) start at parks in each of the new voting districts.

- 3:30PM Meet and hear from your local candidates for City Council.

- 4:30PM Enjoy an easy 5 mile ride led by BIKELOUD on Neighborhood Greenways to the Ankeny Rainbow Road street plaza.

- 5PM Get food or drinks for $1 off at the BikePortland Bike Happy Hour and meet riders and candidates from other districts.

- 6PM Ride together to Duckworth Dock. Splash in the Willamette River!

- Lifeguards at Duckworth Dock thanks to Human Access Project and Lloyd EcoDistrict.

- Bike-pulled and battery-powered DJ booth: PopCartPDX.

- Food carts, lounging, people watching, and sunset viewing. - Bring your swimsuit, towel, bike lock, and bike lights for the return trip.
