Meet Daniel DeMelo.
“Every Portlander knows: We Can Do Better. I’m ready to deliver for my neighbors in Portland City Council District 3.”
And I’ve witnessed firsthand our growing problems:
We were once “the town where young people go to retire.” – now, young people work two jobs just to barely make rent.
We were once “America’s Bike Capital” – now, our city has less bike commuters than it did a decade ago.
We were once startled to see our parks filled with tents – now, despite significant investment, our homeless population continues to grow.
Every Portlander knows: We Can Do Better.
I’m a Proud Portlander.
Portland needs
Decisive Action.
I’m ready to take on the problems my neighbors and I face every day:
As the Chair of the Joint Office’s inaugural Budget Advisory Committee, I raised the red flag over our unaccountable and ineffective homelessness response. I’m committed to ending Portland’s homelessness & housing crises.
As a straphanger and cyclist concerned about our climate crisis, I’m committed to pouring the concrete required to make our streets safe, clean and equitable.
As a dedicated community advocate, I’ve fought to preserve access to public records and protect community input on Multnomah County’s $3.5 billion budget. I’m committed to ensuring our government is accountable and engaged.
Enough is enough – we need to commit ourselves to making progress. Join me in this vital endeavor. Together, We Can Do Better.
We Can Do This. Together.
We can do better for each and every one of our neighbors – but we will have to do it together.
